7-11-2009 !! Great News for Rob and his Wife Shelly

The Bell's have a new healthy baby Boy. Hayden Landry Bell. He weighs 8lbs and 12 ozs.
Congratulations Rob and Shelly!!

Update 3-19-2009
I know you have been waiting to hear from Rob. Here is a message from him.

Things are comming along pretty good I think. I have been going to physical therapy 3 times a week and seem to be making pretty good progress. My therapist tells me I'm his best athlete patient he's ever had. I'm ahead of every milestone and stronger than they could have ever expected. I'm still not as strong as I'd like to be but I've jumped up alot in the past week. Went from 40lbs to 100lbs in the last week on my hamstring curls. It's amazing how much muscle I lost in the couple weeks I was on crutches. I'm just gonna keep pushing it as much as I can and get back into the shape I need to be in to play this game.
I'm planning on entering Ft. Pierce, Fl the second week of April. I'm just waiting for my brace to come in and I'm gonna start riding my horse. Then I'll prob get on a practice bull before just to make sure I'm ready before I go all the way to Florida.

Update2-4-2009
I was ready to go last week and went to Jackson, Tn. Felt really good till I fell off and somehow I screwed up my knee. I went and seen Tandy on Monday and its pretty bad. Tore my acl and mcl. I chose to go with re-ab instead of surgery and i will be on the shelf for 6-8wks.

Update 9-2-2008
Looks like Rob is back riding like he can!! He finished 2nd. in Brazil last weekend. He rode 4 out of 5 of his bulls and was winning the event until the last guy rode.
Congratulations Rob!

Update 8-17-2008
Rob Bell wins Colby Yates Challenge
The big winner for the weekend came from Friday’s performance. Rob Bell of Houston, British Columbia, was one of just two bull riders to have two qualified rides through both nights of competition. His 170-point total bettered Bronson Butcher of Muskogee, Okla., by 2.5 points and earned the Canadian $6,419 in American money.

“You have no idea how good this feels,” Bell said. “I don’t think I’d won a check since June. I’ve been going, and I’ve drawn good bulls, but I haven’t done my end. I have no excuses, but this feels so good.”

Overall payout: 1. Bell, 170, $6,419; 2. Bronson Butcher, Muskogee, Okla., 67.5, $4,478; 3. Herman, 91, $4,478; 4. Donaldson, $3,135; 5. Ford, 90, $1,970; 6. Baethge and Koschel, 88.5, $776; 8. Courson, 88, $358.

Update 2/5/2008
I have been riding pretty good, having a little trouble in the short rounds but all in all it's been pretty good. I won 3rd at the event in Bossier City, which was good because it was kinda hometown and I had 30+ people that came to watch me. I bucked off in Denver and in Pueblo. I had a really good ride going in Pueblo and just lost my rope. I was 84.5 in Monroe and Bucked off in the short round. I bucked off in Augusta. I was 85 in Jackson,tn and bucked off in the short round. I ended up 7th there and won a little. I had a bad day in Fairfax,va and bucked off 2 bulls. I was 7.9 on my first one and I guess I didn't give it everything on my second one because I fell off a bull I should have rode all day. There wasn't anything to go to but discovery events this weekend so I elected to stay home. Next weekend on the 9th I will be riding in Fayetteville,nc. On the 15-16th I will be riding in the Copenhagen Finals in Oklahoma City. The first two rounds are qualifier rounds with 50 guys and the top 10 advance to the last two rounds along with the 35 other guys that are already qualified.

Update 1-8-2008
I went back to riding this past weekend. I was 84 on my first bull in Fort Pierce,FL on Friday. I had a piece of junk in the short round and he bucked me off. I don't think I will place there, I was 3rd in the long round and 5th in the average when I left with one day left. I was 83.5 in Jackson, TN on Sat. and it took 84.5 to make the short round. All in all I was happy with my weekend even though I didn't win anything. Its been a while since I have been on any bulls and to ride 2 out of 3 isn't that bad.
I will be riding close to home this Sat the 12th. Bossier City is all I entered this weekend. I will be off to Denver,Co next mon the 14th and the 16th and Pueblo,Co on thurs the 17th. Then I'm headed back to Monroe,LA for the 18th and Augusta,Ga on the 19th.

Update 9/24/2007
Rob is riding with some pain to say the least. He has a bad groin tear and a banged up knee BUT he is one tough cowboy and plans to make a run at getting into the finals. This is where you can find Rob riding in the next few weeks.
Enid,Ok Sept 24th and possibly 26-27th(progressive rounds) Charlottetown,PEI Sept 28-29th Halifax,NS Oct 5-6th Harrisburg,PA Oct 7th Pasadena,TX Oct 10th Lloydminster,SK Oct 12-13th

Update9/11/2007
Rob- I started riding in Pueblo on the 30th. I was 88.5 on my first one and won the long round and bucked off in the short round but still ended up 5th overall and won $4500. I was pretty happy with that since it was the first bull i'd been on since the middle of July. I bucked off in Belton,tx the next night. I was making a really good ride and got bucked off right at the whistle. Last night I was in Waycross,Ga. I was 85 on my first one and hurt my groin a little. I chose not to ride in the short round. I ended up 3rd in the long rnd and 6th overall

Beckie- Check back for a new update on Rob's injury

Update 7/24/07
I went to Bozemen and Forsyth,MT last week and I wasn't feeling to good. I was supposed to ride in Salt Lake City tonight and didn't get on. I drove to Tulsa to see Tandy instead. Tandy wasn't sure if I have a pelvis fracture or a sports hernia. I will follow up with him in a couple weeks and try and figure out what the problem is. I will be out for at least a month though. I'm not too happy about it but I guess its part of the game.

Update 6/21/2007
Next weekend it depends on wheither or not I get in to Phoenix or not. If I don't get in I am entered in Andrews,Tx on the 29th and St.Paul,Or on the 30th. Then I am going to Rupert,Id on the 2nd, Idaho Falls,Id on the 3rd, Calgary,Ab on the 4th, Park Rapids,Mn on the 5th, Prairie Du Chien,Wi on the 6th and Springdale,Ar on the 7th.

UPDATE 6-20-2007
I had a decent weekend last week. I rode my first two bulls for 80 and 87.75pts and I bucked off in the Short go. I won 4th in the 2nd round and ended up 7th overall. I got the call today and I will be going to Dallas this weekend.

6-13-2007 Update
Over the past couple of weeks I have only went to a couple bullridings. I didn't do much at the first two but I won a little this past weekend. I was 83 pts in Estero,Fl on fri night and didn't make the short go. On Sat in Orlando I was 88 on my first one and was bucked off in the short round. I ended up 3/4th in the long rnd and 5/6th in the average. I made around $2200. I don't think it will be enough to get me into Nashville this weekend but it might. If I don't get in I am entered in three PBR's in Canada this weekend. I am planning on winning a little this weekend so I can get in to Dallas next week. If I don't I am entered in a Couple et events in the north east as a back up plan. I rode pretty good this weekend so I have high hopes for this weekend whereever I end up going.

Collin is doing great. He keeps us on our toes. He is one energetic little guy. Since he had his tonsils taken out a few weeks ago he seems to be doing much better. (still short though) He loves being outside, which is nice cause I hate staying inside and theres alot less stuff to break out there.

5-14-07 New Pictures on the "Riding Picture" Page

Update 5-10-07
I didn't have a great weekend last week. I was 86 on my first bull and bucked off my second in Manchester,NH on Friday. I got fouled and then got a re-ride and bucked off at 7 secs in Ada,OK on Saturday. And I just plum fell off a nice bull right at the whistle in Del Rio, TX on Sunday. I am headed to two Et events in Providence,RI on Friday and Durant OK on Saturday this weekend.

Collin had his tonsils taken out last Wednesday. He has had a tough time but he is comming around. He is still a little grumpy but he should be back to full speed in a day or so.

Keep checking Rob's website for new riding pictures..Coming Soon!

Update 4/22/2007
New Update from Rob!
I had a pretty good weekend for a change. I think things are finnaly comming around. I missed getting into Billings this weekend by a little over $100 and I made up that ground this weekend so I should be headed to Nampa next weekend. I went to Binghamton,NY on Fri night. It was just a 2 header, there wasn't a short rnd. I was 88.5 on my first bull and 79 on my second one. I think I ended up 2/3rd and won about $2500. On Sat I went to Bowling Green,Ky and I was 86 on my first bull and split 1st in the long rnd and I was 76pts(my bull sucked) in the short rnd. I ended up 7th and won a little over $1400. It feels good to go a whole weekend without getting bucked off. I've ridden 5 in a row now and I've got my confidence back and i'm really excited about this comming weekend. I'm headed to Clovis,Ca on Thurs for a CT event and I should be headed to Nampa for the weekend

Update 4/2/2007
A Update From Rob!
I have a good update for a change. Friday night in Abilene TX didn't go very good, I got bucked off. Saturday night in Monroe, LA went alot better. I was 84.5 on my first bull and 88pts in the short rnd. I didn't place in the long rnd but I won the average. I made a little over $4000 so it will help in the challenger standings. I just have one bullriding this weekend in Stephenville,TX on Friday night.
Next week I am entered in San Fransisco,Ca on Wednesday and University Park, PA Friday and Erie, PA on Saturday.

Update (Change of Plans!!) 3/27/2007
Rob will be going to Abilene, TX on friday instead of Hampton, Va. He will still be going to Monroe,LA on Saturday. Next friday on the 6th he will be going to Stephenville, TX.

Update 3/20/2007
Great news from Rob! He will be riding in the BFTS this weekend in Omaha NE. Good Luck Rob!
Rob will heading to the ET event in Hampton VA next Friday and Monroe LA next Saturday

Update 3-8-2007
Rob has had a streak of bad luck lately. He feels good about turning it around. He will be going to two Enterprise events this weekend in Enid, Ok Fri and South Haven, Ms on Sat. Hopefully he will make enough money to make it back for the Tacoma WA event next week.
Collin is doing good!

Update 1/4/07
Rob had a good run at the end of the 2006 season however he didn't make it into the NYC BFTS event. Here is some dates where you can see Rob ride in upcoming events..

I didn't get into New York. There are a few guys comming back from injuries so they didn't take any alternates there. I am headed to challengers in Louisville, Ky tommorow and then down to two events in Florida on the weekend. I'm in Denver on the 9th-10th and Pueblo, Co on the 11th. I am entered in Prescott,AZ on the 12th and Beaumont,TX on the 13th. Hope I can get some more $ won so when they do need some alternates I will be at the top of the list.

Update 10-23-06
Rob hung in there to WIN the KC CT event!! He won the long go and the average for $7120. To bad it couldn't have happened a week earlier but its a great start to the '07 season. It will also move him up in the standings in the Challenger standings..
The top 25 at the end of Dec. are seeded for the Challenger finals which is worth a million dollars, in Feb..
Rob ask me to THANK everyone for voting for him in the Hawaii All Star Challenger Event!
Good Luck Rob!

Update 10-21-2006
The new year is starting good so far. Rob was in KC last night and rode both his bulls. He was 88 in the long rnd and 87 in the short rnd. He said he was winning the long rnd and the average but there is still 45 guys to go tonight. Rob said he should hang in there for a decent check. He is riding in Shreveport, LA tonight. Hopefully this year will be a good one for Rob!

Update 10-20-2006
My last ditch effort to make the finals didn't go as planned. I was 72pts on my first bull in Charlottown and bucked off my re-ride. The bulls over there wern't very good and it was hard to get one that bucked. In the second round I was 77pts and didn't win a dime or get a re-ride. The bulls in Lloydminster were alot better. I had a nice one for my first one and won 3rd in the round with a 84. In the second round I couldn't have hand picked a better bull. I don't know very many bulls in Canada anymore and he was one I knew I could win the round on. Wrong, he turned out backwards and went accross the arena before he turned back. I was 76.5 with no re-ride. I went into the short round in 7th and drew another nice bull. It was really cold in the arena and I guess I didn't use enough rosin because at about 6 seconds my hand popped out of my rope while I was sitting right in the middle. I ended up 8th and won about $750.
I am going to start on the new year this weekend. I am going to the CT event in Kansas City on fri and back home to the Ct event here in Shreveport on Sat. I am the 3rd. alternate for the PBR finals. I will be headed out to Vegas for the for the ABBI CT event at the Sun Coast on the 30-31st and will stick around to see if I get to get on at the finals.

Update 10-10-2006
The Way Back!! Here is a update from Rob

I bucked off in Roswell. I was 86.5 in Giddings and split2/3rd in the long go, bucked off in the short go and ended up 6th. I was 86 on my first one in Corpus Christi and bucked off in the short go. I ended up 4/5/6th in the long go and in the average there. I felt really good on the bulls that I rode and hopefully I can do something up here in Canada.

Update10-7-2006
Life On The Bubble
Click Here to read about how close Rob is to making the BFTS Finals. Check back and I will let you know how he does this weekend.
Good Luck Rob!

Update 10/4/2006
Rob was a little rusty his first week back. It's always a hard to concentrate on riding after a bad injury. He bucked off in Biloxi and New Braunfells. He was 80.5 in Benton but bucked off in the short. Hopefully he has all the kinks worked out and win this weekend. Rob said he was a little sore but nothing out of the ordinary.

Collin just had his first birthday. Check out his birthday pictures on
"Collin Page"

Update 9/25/2006
Rob got the OK from Dr Tandy, today. He will be going to the Challanger events this weekend in Biloxi, MS, Benton, Ar, and New Braunfel, tx.

Update 9/19/2006
Rob will be having a MRI Thursday the 21st to see if his liver has healed. If it is healed he is entered in Challanger events in Biloxi, MS, Benton, AR, and New Braunfel, TX on the 29th, 30th, and 1st. There are eight events that he is planning on attending before the season ends. Roswell, NM on Oct 6th, Giddings, Tx on the 7th, Corpus Christi, TX on the 8th, Charlottown, PEI the 10-11th and Lloydminster, SK on the 13-14th. These dates could change if Rob win something at the first few and gets back on the BFTS. He has been bumped to 45th in the qualifier standings but if he rides well at some of these events he will be headed to Vegas for the BFTS Finals!

Check back and we will let you know how it goes at the doctors..I'm looking forward to seeing Rob back on Tour!

Update 8-25-2006
I feel pretty good, it still hurts when I sneeze and I have a slight stomach ache all the time but it's alot better than it was. I'm really wanting to be able to come back to ride the last weekend of sept and that would give me a couple weeks to win a little more to get myself to vegas. I will probably enter for that weekend and go see Tandy a day or two before i'm gonna ride. He wants me to have a MRI done before I ride to make sure my liver is healed.

Collin is doing great! His first birthady is this Sunday Aug.27th. He has come a LONG way. He pulls up on everything and is walking behind his walker.

I'm on strict bed-rest, i'm not even allowed to pick up Collin for the next 3 weeks.

Update 7-18-2006
Congratulation to Rob on his WIN in Bismark ND!!..here is a update from Rob.

I had a decent week last week. I bucked off in Cleveland but made up for it in Bismark. I rode both my bulls for 82.5 and 89 and ended up winning the average for $11,000. I lost my rope right at the whistle in the short round and flipped out the back and landed on my head. My neck is pretty sore. I'm not sure if i'm going to ride in Montana this week. I did get into the BFTS in Tulsa this wekend so hopefully it feels better by then.

Update 7/12/2006

I ended up 2nd in the long go and 3rd in the average for about $2500. On the 2nd I went to Park Rapids, Mn and it didn't go great. My first bull wasn't to great and I was given a re-ride. My re-ride bucked me off. On the 3rd I went to Idaho Falls,Id. I rode my bull there and was one spot out of the short round. On the 4th I went to Redmond,Or. I made a really good ride in Redmond and was only 84.5pts. In the short round I had a really good seat on my bull and my hand popped out of my bullrope. I ended up 5/6th and won $783. I went to Calgary, Ab on the 5th, Springdale, AR on the 7th and Ardmore, Ok on the 8th. I bucked off at all three of them. On thurs I am hitting the road again. I will be going to Cleveland, Oh on the 14th, Bismark, SD on the 15th, Bozemen, Mt on the 19th, Forsyth, Mt on the 20th. Hopefully I win a little more and get to go to the BFTS in Tulsa on the 21-23rd. I will be riding in the rodeo in Cheyenne, Wy on the 24th and 25th and the PBR there on the night of the 25th. If all goes well, He sould be back riding in month.

Update 2-7-2006
This weekend started good and ended bad,for Rob. He rode both his bulls in Tampa FL and ended up in 7th place. He was pretty happy with his finish there because the bull that he rode in the short round had the longest buckoff streak of any bull in the PBR and Rob broke it.

Unfortunately, in Jacksonville Fl Rob took a hit to the face and broke his jaw. He went to Dallas TX yesterday to confirm it. He is going back to Dallas on Thursday to have surgery. He thinks they are going to put a plate in it and wire his jaw shut for 6 weeks. Rob said, he's not sure how long he will be out, but he's hoping it's only 3 or 4 weeks. Rob said, he guess he was gonna have to dig the helmet out of the closet.

Update 1-31-2006

Collin's first bullriding was a success. All the fireworks and loud music didn't seem to bother him. Rob said the OLN crew took some footage of Collin and interviewed Rob.. So, look for that interview, soon.

Update 1-25-2006
Fresno and Sacramento didn't go as Rob had hoped. He bucked off in Fresno and on his first bull in Sacramento his score was only 76pts. not the best bull but Robs arm was giving him some trouble so he kept the low score and hoped to get a good score on his next bull however, that didn't go well either, he bucked off his second bull. He is on a week to week basis to get in the BFTS events.
Rob is headed to Forth Worth TX on Feb. 2nd and is entered in the Extreme Bulls event in San Antonio on the 3rd. just as a back up if he doesn't get into the BFTS event.
As for this weekend Rob will be at the BFTS event in Oklahoma City!

Update 1-13-2006

Update 1-9-2006
Rob was 82.5 on his first bull in Ft. Pierce but bucked off his second bull. He drew a bad bull in Jackson Tn. and didn't make the 8sec... He is off to Denver and hopes things work out better there.

10-18-05 Update from Rob
I went to Passadena, tx last week on Wed for the Humps and Horns and started a really good bullride. I had Woodstock of Frontier's and I fell off at 7.9sec. I feel like i'm riding pretty good, I just have been making a few small mistakes. That was the last Bullride of the '05 season for me and i'm glad it's over. I'm going to Kansas City, Mo this Fri and Washington, DC on Sun for the first two Challanger Tour events of the '06 season. I have high hopes for the new year, I have to get some money won as soon as possible so I can get back on the BFTS as soon as possible. I will be going to every Challanger tour I can get to until I get back.

They finnaly took Collin off the ventalator this morning. He has been on it for 52 days and if everything keeps going the way it is he should be done with it. He is still getting oxygen through his nose but he is breathing on his own. He has made alot of progress in the last week and if he continues the way he is going he may be out of the incubator and feeding out of a bottle in another week. It makes the visits to the hospital alot nicer now that we can hold him in our arms instead of just holding his hand. Rob

9-28-05
A couple of the event's Rob had planned on making have been cancelled. Grand Forks, ND and Rockford, IL have been cancelled and he will not be at the Williston, ND event.. ND is just too far to go for one event..

9-26-05
Rob had a good first weekend back. He had a really good bull for his first one in Albuquerque NM. He says he couldn't have hand picked a better bull to make his comeback on after sitting out 4 months. Rob said he was just a really solid bull that spun to the left right in the gate and it was good for 89pts. He ended up winning the long round and third in the average for $2950.

Collin has been doing really good lately. He is still on the resperator but Shelly got to hold him for the first time on Sunday. She was really excited. Rob is hoping they let him hold Collin this week.
